A little background: I put up new sheetrock on the ceiling, and bought paintable, 12 x 12, glue-up ceiling tiles that look like the old tin ceilings. The ceiling, however, was sloping towards the light. The plasterer was supposed to level the ceiling so that I could put the ceiling tiles up. Now, instead of at least having a flat (albeit sloped) surface on which to glue tiles, I have a complete mess that I'll need to rip down. He just slapped plaster up there. There isn't a flat surface on which to glue the tiles.
