Dick Linder, the highly regarded racer out of Pittsburgh, keeps his #25 Oldsmobile ahead of a trio of challengers in the Aug. 20 1950 NASCAR Grand National race at Dayton OH. [George Hartley is in #60 a 1950 Mercury {sometimes listed as a Ford}] Records of this race are missing a lot of information Linder started 2nd, while Curtis Turner (shown following the #25, and just outside of the #60) started first led 48 laps and finished 23rd of 28; no other starting positions are shown. Many of the cars' numbers are not listed for example the #0 shown above. It was Linder's first of three wins in the 1950 NASCAR season. A versatile driver, Linder quit NASCAR racing in 1952 and made the move to the AAA Indy Car series. He lost his life in a crash at Trenton in 1959.
