A Book for a Cause with more than 180 photographers and more than 600 images in one book Proceeds will go to Mission:Save Kids with Cancer and Mga Munting Angel ni Dr. Love
FOREWORD by Mr. Joel C. Yuvienco
This coffee-table volume is a celebration of the universal and timeless power of light -- light as a source of life, almost "resonating" the opening lines of the Good Book. To quote a sage: "This world, at some undescribed period, having been convulsed and broken up, was a dark and watery waste for ages perhaps, till out of this chaotic state, the present fabric of the world was made to arise."
Still, with light comes darkness, the interplay of which brings forth the beauty and power of life, its ebb and flow.
This book is thus a collection of images that compellingly capture, as if from a single lens, diverse and colorful perspectives of photographers - amateur and professional alike - on everything bright that life has to offer. Yet it is also a collective masterpiece that could perhaps shed light and surface fresh insights into a darker corner of life - the plight of some children nearly neglected by society. Not one to let that neglect happen, Edwin Loyola, a multi-awarded photographer curated this visual ode to the innocence of those children albeit trapped in a physical condition that is called lingering illness in polite conversation.
Would that this volume inspire awe and tug at the heartstrings. And having done that, it is hoped that it moves the reader to deeper involvement in this shrine of Loyola's soft spot for children quietly but boldly suffering the wages of cancer.
Light For Life
by Joelle Yuvienco
In its absence,
desperately we grope around for answers.
Running out of breath, losing hope.
The flame within fades to embers
Then, suddenly, a spark
escapes its dark and lonely cage.
Alights on our eyes,
and give us a glimpses of tomorrow.
Darkness becomes no more and light cradles us in her arms.
